Brief Overview:
Calendula is one of the most well known and versatile herbs. Calendula not only helps in repairing skin damage, but also works as a great detoxifying herb where tinctures and infusions are used to treat chronic infections.
Actions: Anti-inflammatory, relieves muscle spasms, astringent, heals wounds, antimicrobial, detoxifying, estrogenic, prevents hemorrhaging
Traditional and Current Uses:
Calendula is an antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral. It's the perfect skin remedy and effective treatment for most skin problems.
These include: Cuts, scars, acne, rashes, burns, thrush, athletes foots, diaper rash, cradle cap, scrapes, inflamed skin, and nipples from breast feeding.
How To Use:
-As an herbal oil infusion: 1 part herbs to 3 parts carrier oil of choice. Add to a jar making sure the herbs are fully submerged in oil. Shake daily for 2 weeks, allow to sit for 1-2 months. Strain, and use.
