Brief: Native to southern India and Sri Lanka, not cultivated in tropical regions around the world.
Constituents: Contains volatile oil of citral (about 70%) and citronella.
Traditional and Current Uses:
Relaxes the muscles of the stomach and gut, relieves cramping pains and flatulence, suitable for children.
Can be used as a poultice for fevers, ringworm, and arthritis.
How To Use:
-As an herbal infusion: 2 tsp of herb to 8 oz of hot water. Steep for 5-7 minutes, strain, enjoyed after meals.
